As a young boy growing up in New England, Jim started fishing with his dad off the jetties and beaches of Cape Cod and the southern waters of Massachusetts . Throughout his education and business career, his love of fishing grew into a love of being on the water owning small boats at first, Mako, Aquasport, Seavee, Blackfin & Jersey among them, allowing him to pursue his pelagic interests more aggressively. In Early 2000 he began to oversee the construction of a 58′ Taylor-Made custom sportfisherman in North Carolina, and a couple years after completion he left his corporate career behind and began owning and operating a fishing and cruising charter business. Since that time he has traveled and cruised the east coast of the United States, the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Caribbean and Central America – wherever the customer, good fishing and the weather would align.
Jim joined the Downey Yachts sales team in 2013 and while he still occasionally travels to chase fish, his top priority is helping people find their dream boat. Whether it be a sportfishing machine or a motoryacht/cruiser, Jim will go the extra mile to find the perfect match for each and every customer.
